He was a punk, she had a $12 million house in Malibu—can I make it any more obvious? Pop punk princess Avril Lavigne just listed her contemporary oceanside pad, according to Dirt. The “Complicated” singer paid $7.8 million for the bluff-top property in October 2020 and is hoping to get a return on the investment.

The 3,455-square-foot dwelling hosts three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, plus a guest house attached to a two-car garage, which adds an additional bed and bath. The main structure was originally built in the late 60s, but local luxury developer Scott Gillen thoroughly renovated the place shortly before Lavigne’s tenure.

Inside, the open-plan main house features blonde hardwood floors and bold exposed-beam ceilings. A spacious great room hosts a modern galley kitchen outfitted with a breakfast bar that can seat six, a living area with a TV-topped fireplace flanked by custom built-ins, a dining table, and a built-in office nook. Wall-to-wall glass doors provide ocean views and access to the backyard amenities, which include a barbecue area, a fire pit, and a swimming pool with an inset spa and a Baja shelf.

The primary suite, which also boasts direct backyard access, has an airy all-white ensuite bathroom featuring a glass-walled shower and a clawfoot tub with an oversized window view. The windowed walk-in closet is lined with bespoke light-up storage tucked behind glass doors, with high-up shelves accessed via a sliding wooden library ladder.

A second bedroom enjoys direct outdoor access to an infrared sauna, while the third is set up as a gym with a large pocket door facing the guest house, which offers a sleek open-plan living and sleeping space outfitted with oversized windows and a simple ensuite bathroom. Other highlights of the 0.6-acre property  include a temperature-controlled wine closet nestled somewhere in the main house and landscaped gardens.
