The interplanetary space from our solar system contains many dust particles, but little is known about their origin. In a new experiment, scientists collected some of these particles from the Earth’s upper atmosphere and studied them. The samples were analyzed using infrared light and electron microscopy. The study supports the idea that the dust particles are, in fact, leftovers from the formation of our solar system. The results provide insights into the properties of the building blocks of the planets Scientists have engineered a device that can be implanted on the heart for the delivery of drugs on a continual basis to treat the after effects of a heart attack. The device can be connected to a pump through a tube so that it can be refilled, not only with drugs but also with stem cells or proteins, should this be desired. This device is especially designed to prevent or treat the scarring that occurs after a heart attack, which can lead to heart failure.
